What a Kawinky-dink

Wed Feb 6, 2008, 2:20 PM
Well well... No actual pictures today, but a funny story and general proof to one of my friends that I am indeed Sheis.

I was in class today and as I was sitting in my usual place, staring at my textbook hoping that the information would naturally seep into my brain. A friend, I heard, started talking about Jing. Since well Jing is my personal fav. I clued in. She was surfing deviant art last night and came across several pictures that she liked that were drawn by a certain artist. She strarted to say out the name ..."She...is? I think." I threw my arms up in class and yelled out, "Hey that's me!". Obviously she and her friend were a bit sceptical but never the less I kept saying it's me and now they believe me....

What an odd coincidence....

Well, well I'm almost at 100 hits which is something I didn't expect. I'm not the greatest artist but I need to practice to create my own style. I'm now starting back at Square one literally. I went back to the first Jing book and did the first block and goin got try to do each block once no matter if the pic doesn't turn out well.

School is almost out for winter and luckily my last exam is at Dec.7. So with soooo much free time, I might as well get a few pictures done.

Study or not to study?
What to do, what to do...

From the depths of Hell (Aka Uni)

Sat Oct 13, 2007, 5:01 AM
Okay well for all my adoring fans(read one watcher) I figure I should update. I am alive, and having been getting into the swing of things in Uni. Well I've been in the swing of things for a month now I'm just lazy at writing these things and updating.

I've been drawing on and off these last few months and I figure I'd show you a drawing or two, nothing special. I've switched my mode of drawing from a pencil to black pen and a Black Brush pen, which I think has benifitted mystyle and I, except in the corrections department. Which at times is pretty hit or miss. I'm still mirroring Kumakura's style and I am slowly coming along with my own style(read extremely slowly). In regards to my Photoshoping and what not... It's barely happening, I worked well the first few weeks but in the end I got discouraged and put off using it for a long time. The communty was helpful... somewhat. This is the kind of converstation I had with them (obviously not the actual converstation)

Me- "Umm...My dog died and I want to know how to raise him from the dead."
Community- "Well heres a tutorial on canine anatomy, send us a pick of your dog when your finished. good luck."
Me- "Umm thanks."

My point in that converstation was that I appreciate the help but it didn't adress my particular problem, but then again I wasn't too specific on the help I needed... cest la vie. I've abandoned the image I was working on but if I get into the mentor program I guess I'd have to go hardcore on my pics.

Woooo it's sooo pretty...

I just bought a Wacom Tablet so I've just started getting into photoshop. It's gonna be fun editing all my pics.

It's also my first time using a tablet pen which was really weird to start learning at first. Plus I'm left handed when I write, and I'm right handed with my mouse. It's getting really irritating switching keyboard and mouse all the time. I'm slowly using phasing out my mouse and using the pen. Its entertaining to play Dawn of War with a pen "Take that Imperial scum, I shall poke you to death with a pen of DOOM!!".

Well I'm off to practice with my pen and Photoshop 6, anybody have extra tips or exercises?
